ABOUT

Merritt Goodwin is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator from Southern California. He is the guitarist of the rock band Stitched Up Heart and is a composer of films, production and trailer music. 

 

Merritt began his musical training at age 6, where he began playing the piano. He then gravitated toward the guitar and after high school attended Northern Arizona University where he studied music and philosophy. He then moved to Los Angeles attending Musicians Institute and this ultimately led him to joining the industrial metal band, Psyclon Nine. Then finally into Stitched Up Heart in 2013. Since 2013, he has been an active touring musician, being on notable tours with bands such as Lacuna Coil, In This Moment, Halestorm, Volbeat, and Godsmack. He has also worked in studios with some of the most top producers. 

 

As an educator, Merritt gives private lessons in guitar, songwriting, and production. He also has an open Q & A on Twitch where he answers any questions on a variety of industry topics. 

 

Outside of music Merritt enjoys learning a variety of topics, reading, playing video games, and watching films.
